Having a Tough Time Tracking Your Mobile Team? Workforce Management Is the Tool You Need.

It’s a tool that gets the best out of your field reps and also gives them an ideal working experience by automating tasks.

Running a business efficiently is crucial when it comes to minimizing expenditure while making full use of the resources at hand. This is one of the main reasons why many traditional businesses have started turning towards digitalization to help reduce the inefficiencies of traditional administration methods.

One such tool that was created specifically to help improve administrative operations in companies is the workforce management. Workforce management is a set of processes integrated into businesses that improve the productivity of employees on an individual, departmental and entity-wide level.

Below are just two examples of many processes that can be included into a company’s workforce management:

  • Applicant tracking systems – a database that updates itself based on an applicant’s CV details. With this system, an employer only has to type in the qualification they’re looking for and get a filtered list of desired results.
  • Driver monitoring, where a supervisor can track a driver’s route to deliver goods or services.

In general, we can categorize workforce management methods into the following:

Ad-Hoc

  • Ad Hoc: Orders received are assigned to employees instantaneously through workforce management processes. The progress of job completion can be tracked and the employee in charge can be contacted for an update or to be given notifications.

  • Scheduled: Multiple orders received over a span of time would be organized into routes and assigned to drivers. Like the previous method, these routes would be monitored and drivers can be contacted to ensure productivity is kept at a constant level.

On-Demand

  • On-Demand: The On-Demand structure is often confused with the Ad Hoc system and the main difference between this system and the latter is that this system is purely based on the demand of the customer and not through an arranged deal. For example, a pizza order can be made via a phone call or online and the delivery would be made based on this specific order.

These are just some of the areas where workforce management has made its mark in complementing business administration. Simply put, you can achieve the most efficient HR management system by integrating processes which are most relevant to your business operation.

As we head towards a more digitalized market, businesses need to stay competitive by keeping up with technological advancements as this results in a more efficient administrative structure that in turn helps improve the goods and services that are provided to customers.
